honestly pretty funny. I love the fake-out at the beginning
I do think that this would be way funnier if you removed a lot of the pauses, but outside of that, go drink some water, your throat should not be able to handle such extreme screaming

oh my fucking god, I love the animation for this.
As someone who has been trying to animate a moving camera for a while now, its so nice to see someone else pull it off so flawlessly. You are able to shift the perspective in very creative ways without fucking up the background. That is really hard to accomplish, and I still struggle with keeping things the same size during some transitions, so you've really done something truly impressive
i like how these are becoming just really elaborate set ups for a really good punchline, keep it up!
I saw the thumbnail, and immediately knew I was gonna see some gold. Gotta say, happy to be correct.
The character design fits very well with the art style, and I love the attitude you gave her, its a very nice mix of calm yet cool, without showing any sense of apathy.
Your work on the lighting is very impressive as well. Its very cool to see the light flash rapidly as she is welding, it helps give a sense of intensity that I really like, while not being overwhelming or conflicting with her personality.
You also have very good keyframes, the posing combined with the timing convey her actions very well, and really show what her personality is about. You have a very good grasp on how to convey a character through animation.
If this is an animation test, I can understand the lack of inbetweens, but adding a few more inbetweens here in there could really make this even better.
Lastly, this would benefit greatly from sound effects. She is listening to music, so it would add to her character even more if we heard the music she was listening to, whilst hearing the welding as well.
Outside of that, top notch animation! I really do believe you should continue 2d animation, you've got good talent and a great grasp on key posing and timing, two very essential things.
wow thank you! your words are very encouraging.
Very fun short.
I really do like that you went with a storyboard style here, the "sound effects" and art style are very charming, and I really love the character designs.
I do love the idea of a guy who lives in a cartoon world, and just doesn't fucking care about the bullshit around him, it's really funny and serves as a good mockery of cartoon tropes.
For something that is in the style of storyboarding, you also have really good composition! You know when to hide stuff from the camera, and know when to reveal stuff, that kind of knowledge really does add to the comedy of this.
I'm gonna follow you, because I wanna see where this is gonna go. Also, be careful with where you leave your coffee, you don't want it to accidentally spill on your work.
Happy birthday!
I can tell that you're probably new to animation, but I might be wrong.
The only animation is from the candle and the flickering shadow. The candle feels lifeless at the moment, it's only making small movements back and forth, and doesn't really feel like a candle. As for the shadow, I like the little detail of it flickering, but only the shadow on the wall flickers, none of the others do. It feels inconsistent. I would definitely recommend trying to study how a candle fire moves around to get a better grasp on how to animate it.
As for the composition, it feels lackluster. There is no sense of place here, it could either be inside of a building or out on the street, and the silhouettes just feel like they've been placed hap-hazardly, with no reason. I would definitely recommend trying to look into what makes good composition, stuff like the rule of thirds, and also looking at photographs or other drawings of birthday parties can help give you an understanding of what gives good composition.
Sorry for being so harsh here, but I do think that your art-style and character design are somewhat cute, and I think that you do have potential to be a great artist
no problem, and thank you
Pretty charming animation!
I like your interpretation of the original character and scene, it's very cute, and the muted background colours really do make Lulu stand out more.
The sound effects are very fun to listen to, and it goes hand-in-hand with the environment.
I will say though, I do kinda wish that Lulu did more with the controller. All she does is move it up and down, I think that you could sell the idea of her playing the game better if she made small, subtle hand movements on the controller.
Still though, very fun animation, and your 3d modeling skills are impressive!
I really love this film!
The dialogue is absolutely charming, and if this was just some audio you recorded on the spot with a friend, that makes it even better. The editing is absolutely wonderful, and some of these shots really go hard as fuck. The music gives this a dream-like feeling that feels almost romantical in a way, it really does enhance the mood and makes this really comforting to watch.
While I am not the biggest fan of this art style, I do find it pretty cute, but sometimes the proportions feels all wonky and make the characters look like they are deformed in some way. I can understand that there was a deadline, because the animation is very rough in a lot of scenes, but I genuinely commend the fact that you were able to put in more emphasis on composition rather than movements, because your understanding of composition really does carry a lot of the art in here, and it's very impressive and expressive.
Overall, this is a really good film =]
Thank you so much ! The dialogue is real yes I have about 4 more hours worth of rambling haha ! I really appreciate this comment so much ! Thank you for taking the time to give such in-depth feedback !! The animation definitely got left behind at some parts due to the deadline haha, thank you again !!
pretty charming animation, i really love the idea of cooking things from video games
I hope you got a good grade on this animation =]
