Holy shit, abstract animation that flip-flops between schizo-horror and cutesy pixel art? This is perfect!

I would genuinely love to see more of this. The different styles you mish-mash together go hand-in-hand pretty well and work off of one another. And I really love that you do showcase as many styles as possible, it keeps me on my toes and I can never truly predict what's gonna happen, or how you show it's gonna happen
These characters are also really interesting to watch. I love how much they contrast one another in their attitude, and I would really love to see more of them

This is awesome, I love this <3

That is some really impressive shading! It's really detailed and makes the little orange guy look even more loveable

This looks awesome!
Even for a test, you seem to have a good understanding of how Krita works, I hope you enjoy using it as much as I do =]

The ball scares me and I don't know why

LonelyCubee responds:

Oh dang

COVID??? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the internet, localised ENTIRELY within your animation?

brainhem responds:

Lol, I did make this early into 2024 but that was probaly still a weird time mention covid

WOW!
That is not just an impressive walk-cycle, but the perspective on that glass goes really hard

If I were to nitpick something (and this is a really minor nitpick), I do wish the glass and the table were in the shot where the cat was walking, so that we can see where the cigarette lands, rather than it being off-screen and then cutting to the glass. But still, this is a very minor nitpick

Love this animation though <3

jtrofe responds:

Thank you! I thought about the glass after I finished animating the first shot but was too lazy to go back and put it in because I'd have to redo the smear frames of the cigarette

I love the creepy one-eyed man! I don't know what you did to his model that it looks like some sort of squigglevision but in 3D, it reminds me of Vib-Ribbon in a way, but it adds so much charm to him

I would love to see more of these two, their antics are really fun to watch <3

MichaelBlackAnim responds:

Thanks! I used a deform modifier in blender and assigned the deformation to be triggers by the movements of the model, as well as the movements of an invisible, secondary object!

Sans!?!?!

This is somewhat decent

The voice-acting has a lot of room for improvement. Most of the line-deliveries feel very monotone, and don't serve their characters that well.
The Hippo Drill Sergeant for example, she sounds very timid and quiet, but by her character design and in the way she is used, you would expect her to sound tough and intimidating. I think if you made her talk very loudly, and gave her a somewhat raspy voice, her voice would fit the character much better

I'll be honest, you did do a good job of replicating the look of an old, degraded Looney Tunes cartoon. The film grain filter you used, along with the occasional scratches, and the frame moving up and down, do a really good job at making this look like an old film that someone found lying around in their basement, it's a very lovely effect

I would recommend giving your characters unique dialects that fit them. I think the hippo should speak in a very demeaning manner to her soldiers, referring to them as "ladies" or "maggots" and speaking in short sentences. This would really make her stand out among the other characters and show how intimidating she can be

I apologise if I've been overly-critical, but I am so critical because I love the idea of a Looney Tunes inspired cartoon with a female lead, it's not something I've seen done often and I genuinely hope you can make something great out of this =]

AstreEtoile responds:

I do agree 100% with the voice acting and I'll be sure to take note of that next time :)

I really like this, although the camera feels way too shaky at times, thereby making it somewhat hard to see the action
Gotta say though, the characters remind me of those immortal babies from Regular Show, even if that's not intentional I really like that a lot, it's hillarious =]

Romanian animator and artist, I mainly use Krita to draw and animate

I don't exactly think, therefo
